Formosa Art Fair
GRAVITY ART SPACE or GAS is a space for contemporary art, performances, screenings, and a lot of activities that promote artistic and cultural enrichment. GAS is a place where upcoming and established artists meet. Our vision is to establish and develop an artist-run and supported space and agency, that will enrich contemporary Filipino practices in a modern gallery. We aim to empower local and international art and emerging visual, sound, and performing artists and storytellers. GAS is also an
active and grounded platform for the Philippine audience, in contribution to art appreciation and the art economy.
GAS is a space for contemporary art founded by artist Indy Paredes in 2021. It is situated along Mother Ignacia Avenue in Quezon City, a city that is home to a dynamic community of artists, art workers, and art supporters. The word GRAVITY in the space's name speaks to the weight it grants to artistic process and how this is grounded by the collaborative relationships between the space, artists, curators, and its public. Just like the force of gravity, while these aspects of exhibition-making and
programming are not always remarked, they are always part of its consideration and what makes the space's existence possible and its programs worthwhile. Working with a network of co-artists and colleagues of his generation, Gravity Art Space aims to become a collaborative space for companions and contemporaries and a hub for productive discussions, exhibitions, and discoveries in art. -C.M Quijon
